My name is Lonita Dueck. In 2007 I began taking classes at Harrisburg Area Community College with the goal of obtaining an Associates Degree in Web Development and Design. I am reaching that goal in May of 2009. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout my time at HACC.
Since childhood, I have always loved using and playing with computers. After I graduated from Lancaster Mennonite High School, it took me several years to decide what to pursue as my future career. I had not considered web design until my mother suggested it. It did not take me long to decide this was what I wanted to study. I have not regretted the decision. I find web design to be a unique blend of left-brain technical coding and right-brain design not often found together. I have a passion for color and design, evidenced in my love of amateur photography and digital scrapbooking. To be able to combine one of my passions with another, my passion for computers and all things electronic, is inspiring.
One of my long term goals is to own a web design firm. In the short term, I want to gain experience by working with a team of web designers who are innovative and will push me to be a better developer and designer.
